Potty training an outdoor dog??
Yesterday I found a unaltered male pitbull that was out in the 115 degree heat so I took him in and gave him water and hosed him off to cool down. He is now fine but he pees on everything in my house. I already have 4 dogs, 2 pits and 2 boxers so I can’t keep him. He is very sweet and good with all my dogs but he is someones outdoor dog who they dont care about. I kennel trained him so now he can be in the house in the crate but I feel bad keeping him in there until I find his owners or a new home. Does anyone have any good tips on trying to potty train him? It might be that he is trying to mark everything in my house since he isn’t fixed too. I have a doggy door but he is scared of it.There are only a few no kill shelters that take pits, and most are full. I contacted a pit rescue group but i will have to foster him and need to potty train him for a good home.He is also very hyper and him and my dogs go crazy when he is lose in my house. Its hard to catch him because he just wants to play but he pees on stuff so fast. I think it is him marking, not because he has to pee, I take him outside to pee and he pees on everything and he still has pee left to mark in the house! I dont know what to do because I potty trained my dogs as puppies and my male is fixed and pees like a girl so I dont have this problem.
